POSTPONED
Registration for Intermediate Embroidery - Traditional and Brazilian Styles on:
March 8th, 2025 1:00PM - 3:30PM
@ Left In Stitches, LLC.
905 I St. Fortuna, CA 95540
Registration is limited to 8 participants. Must have a minimum of 4 participants or class will be postponed.
In this class, you have the choice to build on your traditional embroidery skills or learn Brazilian embroidery.
In Brazilian embroidery (also known as Dimensional Embroidery) you will use rayon thread instead of cotton. Rayon thread is shinier, slipperier, and does not tangle as easily. It can be pulled through wrapped stitches without difficulty, which allows your embroidery to take on more dimension.
Those practicing traditional embroidery will learn these stitches:
- Bullion stitch
- Colonial knot
- Fern stitch
- Feather stitch
- Combining basic stitches
Those practicing Brazilian embroidery will be using some or all of these stitches and incorporating them into your design:
- Stem stitch
- Pistil stitch
- Chain stitch
- Colonial knot
- Long-short stitch
- Leaf stitch
- Bullion stitch
All necessary supplies will be provided, including embroidery hoops, needles, threads, and fabric. However, you are welcome to bring your own items to embroider if you have a specific project in mind.
